Eight. Million. Metric. Tons. That’s how much plastic ends up in our oceans every year. To put that in perspective, that would leave you wading ankle-deep in trash through an area 34 times the size of Manhattan.
So what can we do? At Sea to Table, we’ve worked hard to eliminate as much single-use plastic from our packaging as possible. When you order from us, you won’t find styrofoam coolers or ice packs, and our eco-friendly boxes and insulation can be recycled curbside.
THIS WEEK, YOUR PURCHASE CAN HELP EVEN MORE.
Through Tuesday 6/8, World Oceans Day, Sea to Table will donate $1 for every frozen pack of fish we sell to the Washed Ashore non-profit. Washed Ashore has a mission to educate the public to the realities of plastic pollution, gleaning plastic from our beaches to create thought-inspiring sculptures of the animals whose health is endangered by the very trash they are made from. Each dollar donated will remove a 5 gallon bucket of plastic trash from the beach, and help them transform it into “Art to Save the Sea”.
Individual choices and actions do make a difference.
